Litchfield Softball Powers Past Father McGivney Catholic in 19-3 Rout
The Litchfield varsity softball team delivered an offensive masterclass on Wednesday, overwhelming Father McGivney Catholic with a 19-3 victory in a non-conference matchup. The Purple Panthers’ lineup proved unstoppable, racking up 11 hits and drawing 10 walks to cruise to the win.
Litchfield set the tone early, responding to a two-run deficit in the first inning with a massive 12-run explosion in the bottom of the second. The rally continued into the third, where the Panthers added seven more runs to cement their dominance.
Kinley Hemken led the Litchfield attack with a stellar performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double. Charlie Bono and Aria Feeley also contributed significantly, with Bono driving in three runs and Feeley adding two hits and two RBIs. Allison Belusko reached base safely in all three of her plate appearances, including a hit and two walks.
On the defensive side, Aria Feeley went the distance in the circle, tossing four innings and allowing only two hits while striking out five to secure the win.
