Litchfield Softball Powers Past North Mac, 9-2
LITCHFIELD, IL – The Litchfield varsity softball team delivered a disciplined and efficient performance on Tuesday, topping North Mac 9-2 in a home conference matchup.
Litchfield’s offense thrived on patience at the plate, drawing 10 walks and utilizing aggressive baserunning to keep the pressure on the North Mac defense. Aria Feeley was the standout for the Lady Panthers, dominating both sides of the ball. In the circle, Feeley went the distance, tossing a complete seven-inning game. She allowed eight hits and only one earned run while striking out seven batters to earn the win.
At the plate, Feeley was equally impressive, going 3-for-3 with a double and a game-high four RBIs. AJ Jarman also provided a spark, contributing two hits and driving in a run, while Charlie Bono and Molly Rimar utilized their speed on the basepaths, tallying three stolen bases apiece to help fuel the Litchfield attack.
The Lady Panthers played a clean defensive game, finishing with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. While North Mac managed eight hits, Litchfield’s defense held firm in key situations to keep the visitors from mounting a significant rally.
After trading runs early, Litchfield took command in the middle innings with a two-run outburst in the third and fourth frames, followed by a three-run rally in the sixth to put the game out of reach.
