Wernsing’s Eight Goals Power Litchfield to 11-0 Rout of East Alton-Wood River

WOOD RIVER, Ill. — Landon Wernsing scored eight goals and Litchfield never let the match settle into a contest, rolling to an 11-0 non-conference win over East Alton-Wood River on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The senior forward accounted for more than two-thirds of the Purple Panthers’ output and finished with 17 points on eight goals and an assist. Brody Dykema set the table for most of it, handing out five assists while adding two goals of his own for a nine-point afternoon, and Jaxon Ray rounded out the scoring with a goal.

Litchfield’s finishing was the headline, but the sheer volume of chances told the story just as clearly.
