Williamsville’s Explosive Offense Overwhelms Litchfield in 16-0 Tournament Shutout

The Williamsville varsity softball team brought a relentless offensive attack to Saturday’s tournament matchup, overpowering host Litchfield for a decisive 16-0 run-rule victory in four innings.

Williamsville wasted no time setting the tone, plating five runs in the opening frame before unleashing a massive ten-run barrage in the second inning. Backed by 15 total hits—including a pair of home runs—Williamsville built an insurmountable 15-0 lead before Litchfield could even record six outs.

In the circle for Litchfield, Alexis Mielke battled against the potent Williamsville lineup, throwing 82 pitches over 3.1 innings of work. While Mielke managed to strike out five batters, the visitors consistently found the gaps. Litchfield’s defense also struggled to contain the damage, committing three errors that resulted in five unearned runs.

On the other side of the diamond, Williamsville’s pitching was practically untouchable. They stifled Litchfield’s lineup, racking up 10 strikeouts in just four innings while facing only 14 batters.

Aria Feeley provided the lone offensive highlight for Litchfield, breaking up a potential no-hitter with a perfect 1-for-1 day at the plate. Charlie Bono also found a way aboard, drawing Litchfield’s only walk of the afternoon, but the team was unable to string together any sustained momentum to bring runners home.

Williamsville tacked on one final run in the top of the fourth inning. After Litchfield was held scoreless in the bottom half of the frame, the 16-0 final score was cemented by the run rule.
