Law’s Back-to-Back Hat Tricks Power Litchfield Past Roxana in 5-0 Shutout

ROXANA, Ill. — Showing no signs of fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back, senior striker Chloe Law recorded her second hat trick in as many days to lead the Litchfield varsity girls’ soccer team to a decisive 5-0 road victory over Roxana on Thursday evening.

Fresh off a nine-point masterclass against Jersey on Wednesday, Law remained the focal point of the Litchfield attack. She poured in three goals and added an assist, finishing the non-conference tilt with seven points. Behind her relentless offensive pressure, Litchfield jumped out to a 3-0 lead by halftime and never looked back.

Litchfield’s sophomore playmakers also delivered crucial performances to support Law. McKenna Harmon and Adia Melchert each finished with three points, contributing a goal and an assist apiece. Melchert was heavily involved in the first half, ultimately converting her lone penalty kick opportunity to bolster the Litchfield advantage.

The visitors completely dictated the tempo, peppering the Roxana net with 24 total shots. Law and Harmon were an overwhelming dual threat, pacing the offense with nine shots each. Law also handled corner kick duties, taking all three of Litchfield’s set-piece opportunities from the flag.

Despite the lopsided possession, Roxana managed to generate some offensive pushback, forcing Litchfield sophomore goalkeeper Lynzie Reid to stay sharp. Reid answered the call brilliantly, turning away all 10 shots she faced to secure her second consecutive clean sheet.

On the opposite end of the pitch, Roxana junior goalkeeper Sidney Ufert faced a relentless barrage from Litchfield’s attackers. Ufert made 11 saves over 80 minutes to anchor the Roxana defense in the loss.
