Law’s Nine-Point Masterclass Fuels Litchfield Girls Soccer in 7-0 Rout of Jersey

LITCHFIELD, Ill. — Senior Chloe Law delivered a dominant offensive performance on Wednesday, factoring into six of her team’s seven goals as the Litchfield varsity girls’ soccer team routed visiting Jersey 7-0 in a non-conference matchup.

Law finished the evening with an impressive nine points, recording a hat trick alongside a trio of assists to keep the Litchfield attack operating at full throttle. The home team set the tone early, building a commanding 4-0 advantage by halftime before adding three more tallies in the second half to put the match out of reach.

Litchfield showcased excellent offensive depth to complement Law’s standout performance. Freshman Mataya Melchert was highly efficient inside the final third, netting two goals on just three shots. Sophomore McKenna Harmon was a constant playmaking threat, contributing a goal and two assists, while junior Savannah Carle rounded out the scoring summary with a goal and a helper of her own.

The home side controlled possession and field position from the opening whistle, outshooting Jersey by a lopsided 27-2 margin. Sophomore Adia Melchert helped apply the pressure with five shots, while senior Alli Frerichs added three. Law was also instrumental on set pieces, taking all six of Litchfield’s corner kicks.

Defensively, Litchfield was rarely threatened. Sophomore goalkeeper Lynzie Reid earned the clean sheet, stopping all four shots directed her way during 80 minutes in net. Jersey’s lone offensive sparks came from freshman Holly Lamer, who registered both of the team’s shots.

On the other side of the pitch, Jersey senior goalkeeper Ella Roberts faced a relentless barrage of Litchfield attempts but stood tall to make 14 saves in the loss.
