Extension services will host a hands-on class focused on healthy snacking habits on Friday, Jan. 30, at the JCH Wellness Center in Jerseyville.
The event, titled “Snacking can make or break a balanced diet,” is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at 412 Maple Summit Rd.
The curriculum is designed to teach attendees how snacks impact hunger and nutrition, what to look for when choosing items, and simple steps to prepare satisfying, smarter options. With major sporting events approaching, organizers noted the class will help prepare participants for “the big game” by focusing on heart-smart alternatives.
The session will be interactive, allowing attendees to make and sample healthy snacks.
