LITCHFIELD — The City of Litchfield will pick up residential brush during the week of Oct. 26, weather permitting, the city said in a fall brush collection notice.

Collection begins in Ward 1 on Monday, Oct. 26, and progresses through each of the city’s four wards in order, according to the notice. City staff will make a single pass on each street, and will not return to a street once crews have passed it.

Brush must be at the boulevard by 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, the city said.

Brush may not be placed at the boulevard before Oct. 19. Material set out earlier is subject to a code violation and a citation, and violators may be cited, according to the notice.

Several categories of material will not be collected: yard waste, big logs, whole trees, limbs, and any trees or limbs cut down by a contractor.

Residents may also drop brush off at the city burn area, which the city said is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
