The Litchfield City Council on Thursday, May 7, 2026, unanimously approved a facade improvement agreement with Dunning Partners LLC to support the relocation and expansion of the local Aaron’s Store.
The business recently moved to 1403 Stamer Drive after 16 years at its previous location within the trade area. According to the Business Assistance Application submitted by Roy Dunning, the relocation was driven by a need to expand the showroom, offer a larger parking lot, and increase visibility. The company estimates the move will increase taxable revenue by at least 20% in 2026.
To assist with the transition, the city approved a grant under the Business District Eligible Financial Incentives program. The agreement targets a new pole sign for the property, which carries an estimated total cost of $40,267. Under the program’s rules, the city will reimburse 50% of the documented, eligible costs, up to a strict maximum cap of $10,000.
The funds for the reimbursement are fully budgeted and will be drawn from the city’s Business District funds. Alderperson Ray Kellenberger made the motion to approve the resolution, which passed without opposition.
