Litchfield Soccer Rolls to 9-0 Non-Conference Victory Over Wesclin
The Litchfield varsity girls’ soccer team continued its staggering offensive pace on Wednesday, rolling to a commanding 9-0 non-conference road victory over Wesclin.
Litchfield controlled the pitch from the opening kickoff, unleashing a relentless offensive attack that kept the hosts on their heels for the entirety of the match. The visitors dictated possession and continuously sliced through the defensive third, finding the back of the net nine times before the contest concluded in the 73rd minute.
Despite facing a constant barrage of shots, Wesclin freshman goalkeeper B. Earnhart displayed remarkable resilience. Earnhart recorded a gritty 18 saves over 73 minutes in the net, battling hard against a Litchfield offense that generated high-quality scoring opportunities almost at will. Based on Earnhart’s save count, Litchfield pelted the Wesclin net with at least 27 shots on goal during the abbreviated match.
On the opposite end of the field, the Litchfield defense was completely impenetrable. Wesclin (25-26) managed to generate six total shot attempts—four off the foot of senior N. Quitmeyer and two from freshman Payton Brown—but the Litchfield backline maintained pristine shape. The defensive unit ensured that not a single Wesclin attempt found the target, securing another flawless clean sheet for the visiting squad.
