Litchfield converted three penalty kicks in the shootout to secure the dramatic victory after the teams remained deadlocked at 0-0 through regulation and overtime.
The match was a grueling test of endurance and goaltending, with both defenses refusing to yield an inch. Staunton (25-26) was anchored by junior goalkeeper Madelyn Davin, who turned in a heroic performance to keep the hosts off the board during live play. Davin weathered relentless offensive pressure from Litchfield, recording 11 saves and maintaining a clean sheet through 80 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of extra time.
