Chloe Law’s Hat Trick, Three Assists Power Litchfield Soccer to 7-0 Rout of Jersey

Senior standout Chloe Law delivered a masterclass performance on Wednesday, registering a hat trick and three assists to propel the Litchfield varsity soccer team to a dominant 7-0 non-conference victory over visiting Jersey.

Litchfield’s offense was firing on all cylinders from the opening whistle, relentlessly pressuring the Jersey defense to the tune of 27 total shots. Law was the undeniable catalyst, having a hand in six of Litchfield’s seven goals. The hosts quickly overwhelmed the opposition, building a commanding 4-0 lead by halftime before cruising through the second half.

Freshman Mataya Melchert capitalized on the team’s offensive rhythm, netting a pair of goals on three shots to secure a brace. Sophomore McKenna Harmon also stuffed the stat sheet, finding the back of the net once while distributing two assists. Junior Savannah Carle made the most of her scoring opportunity, tallying a goal and an assist to round out the Litchfield attack.

On the defensive end, sophomore goalkeeper Lynzie Reid secured her second shutout of the week. Reid was a steady presence in the net, turning away all four shots on goal she faced over the full 80 minutes. The Litchfield backline completely stifled the Jersey attack, limiting the visitors to just two total shots, both taken by freshman Holly Lamer.

Despite facing a constant barrage of shots, Jersey senior goalkeeper Ella Roberts battled admirably in the net, registering 14 saves against the aggressive Litchfield frontline.
