House passes measure to restrict insurance price increases
The Illinois House approved a bill to regulate price increases of home and automobile insurance. Supporters said consumers are facing increased costs they can’t afford and the legislation would put a review process in place for rate increase for both industries.
Opponents said the move would repel insurance companies from the state.
The measure now heads to the Senate.
IHDA attorney fired over AI violation
A recent Office of Executive Inspector General investigation looking into allegations that an Illinois Housing Development Authority attorney wrongly used artificial intelligence with sensitive information found the employee violated policies.
The OEIG reports the employee’s emails contained AI-related information to his outside law firm, violating both an AI and outside employment policies.
The employee was terminated.
Trout season opens April 4
The spring trout fishing season opens April 4 at 58 ponds, lakes and streams across the state.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announced stocks of more than 80,000 rainbow trout each year in bodies of water where such fishing is permitted. Fishing licenses are available online.
