Chloe Law’s Hat Trick, Reid’s Shutout Propel Litchfield Soccer Past Roxana, 5-0

Senior Chloe Law delivered a dominant three-goal performance to secure a hat trick as the Litchfield varsity soccer team cruised to a 5-0 non-conference victory on the road against Roxana on Thursday.

Litchfield controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, consistently putting pressure on the Roxana defense and generating 24 total shots. The offensive barrage resulted in three first-half goals, giving Litchfield a comfortable cushion going into the break. Law was the focal point of the attack, netting a team-high three goals while also distributing an assist.

Sophomores Adia Melchert and McKenna Harmon also made significant contributions to the Litchfield offense, each recording a goal and an assist in the decisive win. Melchert’s tally came via a successfully converted penalty kick, highlighting the team’s efficiency in the final third. Harmon stayed aggressive throughout the match, matching Law for the team lead with nine total shots.

On the defensive side, sophomore goalkeeper Lynzie Reid was flawless in the net for Litchfield. Reid turned away all 10 shots on goal she faced over 80 minutes to earn the complete-game shutout victory.

For Roxana, junior goalkeeper Sidney Ufert faced relentless pressure from the Litchfield attackers. Despite taking the loss, Ufert stood tall against the heavy volume of shots, registering a hard-earned 11 saves in the effort. Litchfield added two more goals in the second half to cap the scoring and finalize the 5-0 result.
