Litchfield Park District Meeting | Feb. 4, 2026
The Litchfield Park District Board of Commissioners met on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 1100 South State St. to handle monthly business and receive committee reports. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Jeff Heyen. Commissioners Katie Cross, Brian Kulick, Sherry Bergschneider, and Jennifer Cearlock were present. Commissioners Christopher Bates and Jaylynn Taylor were absent.
The Board held an executive session later in the evening to discuss “potential land options.” The Board entered the closed session at 7:44 p.m. on a motion by Commissioner Kulick and returned to open session at 8:36 p.m. Upon returning, Commissioner Kulick made a motion to table the discussion, which was seconded by Commissioner Cross and passed. No other action was taken regarding the land options.
Briefs:
Pickleball Tournament Recap
Commissioner Sherry Bergschneider reported that the recent pickleball tournament was a success, with thirteen teams initially entering the competition. However, scheduling adjustments caused three teams to drop out when the advanced bracket was moved to a Saturday. Overall, the Board expressed satisfaction with the event.
Kilton Fund Submissions
The District is currently accepting ideas for this year’s Kilton Fund submission. The deadline for proposals is Friday, March 13. The fund typically supports community improvement projects, and the Board is looking for viable ideas to submit before the cutoff.
Financial Reports Approved
The Board voted to accept the minutes from the January 7, 2026, meeting and approved all financial reports for January 31, 2026. The financial approval covered monthly balances, cash receipts, deposit details, cash disbursements/bills, and profit and loss statements. Commissioner Kulick made the motion to approve the financials, seconded by Commissioner Cearlock.

The meeting adjourned at 9:02 p.m. following a motion by Commissioner Bergschneider.
