The Montgomery County Board on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026, authorized several major purchases to update the fleet and technical capabilities of the Sheriff’s Office.

Following a bid review by the Coordinating Committee, the board voted to award a bid to Victory Lane Chrysler in Carlinville for two new Police Pursuit Dodge Durango vehicles. The accepted bid of $73,649 includes the trade-in of older vehicles.

In addition to the vehicles, the board approved specific equipment expenditures from Coal Fund 375. These included $24,868.71 to Motorola Solutions for body camera storage and $9,891 to GTSi for squad car equipment.

Committee reports noted that while one bid for the vehicles included a $6,000 trade-in and another a $9,000 trade-in, there was discussion in the committee phase about potentially retaining one trade-in vehicle for use by Animal Control.
