The Montgomery County Board’s Development and Personnel Committee voted on Monday, January 5, 2026, to advance a Community Benefits Agreement with Summit Ridge Energy, securing funds for local workforce development.

The agreement outlines the terms for a solar project within the county. A key component of the deal is a $25,000 donation from Summit Ridge Energy to the South Central Regional Workforce Training and Innovation Center (SCI) located in Litchfield.

During the meeting, Mike Young, Business Agent for Local 1084, reported that there has been “positive dialog” with the developer regarding the project. Following the review, committee members Russell Beason and Chris Daniels moved to recommend approval of the “Montgomery First Community Engagement Agreement.” The motion carried unanimously.
