Meeting Summary and Briefs: Litchfield Park District for Jan. 7, 2026
Litchfield Park District Meeting | Jan. 7, 2026
The Litchfield Park District Board of Commissioners held its regular monthly meeting on January 7, 2026, presided over by President Jeff Heyen. The board focused heavily on facility maintenance, including updates on the concession stand construction and swimming pool repairs. Additionally, the commissioners approved the 2026 events calendar and reviewed financial reports.
Guest Request for Walton Park:
Guest Dustin Ellinger appeared before the board to request the use of Walton Park for the “Sasquatch team.” Ellinger noted that the organization has three teams this year and prefers Walton Park over Plummer Park—which they used last year—because Walton Park offers lights and restrooms.
LUC Partnership Discussion:
Commissioner Katie Cross and Director Bryant reported on a meeting held last month with representatives from LUC regarding a potential partnership on their WMCA project. While the meeting was described as positive, no decisions have been made. A follow-up meeting was scheduled for January 15 to continue the dialogue.
Santa Visit Recap:
Commissioner Jaylynn Taylor reported a successful “Visit with Santa” event. The event drew more than 54 children and approximately 50 to 75 parents. In addition to the festivities, the district collected one box of canned goods and $186.00 for the local food pantry.
Financial Reports Approved:
The board voted unanimously to accept the minutes from the December 4, 2025, meeting and approved all financial reports for the period ending December 31, 2025. The financial approval included monthly balances, cash receipts, and profit and loss statements.
