County Engineer Cody Greenwood reported that Pattern Energy, a North American developer, has initiated discussions regarding a wind farm installation near the Raymond and Nokomis area. Pattern Energy projects starting the process in 2026, with permitting and construction potentially beginning in 2027. Greenwood stated he would communicate with engineers in Livingston and Kankakee counties, where the developer has similar installations, to gather more information.
In administrative business during a follow-up meeting on November 5, the committee approved a resolution for a 4% salary increase for the County Engineer for fiscal year 2026.
