Board Approves Future Administrator and Expels Student in Personnel Actions

The Litchfield Community Unit School District No. 12 Board of Education took action on student discipline and future staffing during its meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Following a closed session, the board voted unanimously to find that Student #597998165 had committed an act of gross disobedience or misconduct. Subsequently, the board voted 7-0 to expel the student for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Board President Julie Abel presided over the disciplinary hearing and voted on the expulsion before leaving the meeting at 7:01 p.m. Vice-President Ron Anglin presided over the remainder of the meeting.

In personnel matters, the board looked ahead to the next school year by hiring Joe Webb as the High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director, with his term beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

The board also approved the hiring of Freida (DeDe) Irvin as the Title 1 Family Engagement Coordinator for the current school year.

Several coaching changes were approved. The board accepted the resignation of Mallory Beechler as Interim Head High School Volleyball Coach, effective immediately. Other resignations included Kelsey Giannuzzi as Assistant High School Volleyball Coach and Megan Orozco as a Volunteer Coach for the same program.

To fill vacancies, the board approved several volunteer coaches:

  • David Rogers for Middle/High School Wrestling.

  • Kevin Young for High School Boys Basketball.

  • Rocky Giannuzzi for High School Boys Basketball.

  • Sandi Friend-Jackson for Middle School Volleyball.

Additionally, Stacey Carter was approved for a voluntary transfer from Assistant High School Scholastic Bowl Coach to Head Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Carter and Emily Frerichs were also approved as Co-Sponsors of the High School Student Council beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.
