The Litchfield Park District Board met on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, to review end-of-summer financials and ongoing construction projects. The board noted a $24,841 deficit for the pool due to weather and repairs, while celebrating a $10,000 grant from the Duff Trust for the new concession stand.
Guest Amy Patton attended the meeting to discuss the annual audit. According to the minutes, she highlighted the Community Center’s financial performance, comparing data from the last three years to show how well the facility is doing financially.
News Briefs:
Final Concert Set:
The final concert of the summer series at Walton Park is scheduled for September 12. The event will feature the band “Big Shake Daddies,” with food and drinks available for purchase from A & G Kookin’ Kitchen.
Trunk or Treat Planning:
The district is preparing for its annual Trunk or Treat event, scheduled for October 24, 2025. Letters will be sent to local businesses at the beginning of October requesting trunk hosts or donations.
Long-Term Planning:
Director Steve Bryant is compiling a comprehensive list of short, medium, and long-term projects for the district. A discussion was held to brainstorm ideas, and commissioners were asked to submit any additional suggestions to Bryant or Debbie before the next meeting.
TLC Restructuring:
A report on TLC/LCP activities indicated that TLC is currently restructuring. Surveys are being sent to members of both TLC and the Litchfield Community Partners (LCP) regarding future meetings.
