Sky View Drive-In
Cinema Under the Stars on Route 66
Since opening its gates in the spring of 1950, the Sky View Drive-In has remained a defiant and glorious survivor of the golden age of American motoring. It holds the distinct title of being the last originally operating drive-in on Historic Route 66 in Illinois and is one of only four remaining on the Mother Road nationwide.
History & Ownership
While the theater was originally launched by Frisina Enterprises and later stewarded by the Paul and Pastrovich families, it entered a new chapter in April 2023. It is now owned by local businessman Gene Hebenstreit and operated by his family (Chelsey Semplowski and Alec Hebenstreit). They have dedicated themselves to preserving the authentic vintage experience while adding modern touches.
