Litchfield Pickers Market
The Midwest’s Premier Vintage & Antique Market
Held on the second Sunday of each month (May–October), the Litchfield Pickers Market transforms downtown Litchfield into a massive open-air treasure hunt. This is not a typical flea market; it is a juried event where every vintage vendor is required to sell items produced prior to 1985. This strict criteria ensures a high-quality selection of true antiques, collectibles, vintage clothing, and upcycled retro goods, drawing serious collectors and casual shoppers from across the state.
The Experience
The market sprawls across multiple city blocks, centered around the intersection of State Street and Route 16 (Union Ave).
-
The “Pickers” Zone: The core of the market features hundreds of booths filled with nostalgia—from mid-century furniture and vinyl records to rustic farmhouse decor.
-
Monroe Street Market: Located adjacent to the main event, this separate section features talented artisans, crafters, and farmers market vendors (offering fresh produce in July/August), ensuring there is something for everyone.
-
Live Entertainment: Free live music sets the mood all day long at the Library Park bandstand. Visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax on the grass between shopping sprees.
Food & Amenities
You won’t go hungry! Food vendors are stationed at every intersection along State Street, offering everything from kettle corn and lemonade to full BBQ meals.
-
Visitor Tips: Admission and parking are free. Serious shoppers should bring a wagon, cart, or large tote bags to haul their finds.
-
Pet Policy: Please note that for safety in the crowded streets, pets are generally not allowed within the market perimeter.
