Lake Lou Yaeger: Milnot Beach
A Sandy Seaside Escape in Central Illinois
Named after the iconic Litchfield condensed milk company, Milnot Beach brings a true seaside experience to the heart of the Midwest. This is not just a swimming hole; it is a fully equipped aquatic center featuring a large sandy beach perfect for sunbathing, sand volleyball, or building castles with the kids.
Water Adventures & The “Wibit”
The star attraction at Milnot Beach is the “Wibit,” a massive aquatic playground and obstacle course floating in the swimming area. Kids and adults alike can scramble over inflatables, test their balance, and slide into the water. For thrill-seekers, the facility features high and low diving platforms and a rope swing. A separate toddler water slide ensures even the littlest swimmers have a splash-tastic time.
Rentals & Boating
If you want to explore the water beyond the swimming zone, the beach offers rentals for kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and “Corcl” boats (round, spinning boats that are a hit with children). Life jackets are available for purchase at the Marina 1 snack bar, though visitors are welcome to bring their own Coast Guard-approved floatation devices.
