LLCC Board of Trustees Meeting | December 15, 2025

The Lincoln Land Community College Board of Trustees met on Monday, December 15, 2025, to handle end-of-year financial business and receive updates on academic operations. The meeting opened with a public hearing on the use of Energy Transition Community Grant funds, though no citizens offered comments. The board subsequently moved through an agenda focused on tax levies, construction contracts, and personnel matters.

RISE Technology Demonstration:
Professor of Education Tim Humphrey led a “Strategic Discussion” segment featuring the college’s RISE Technology. The demonstration connected the Main Campus classroom with Elizabeth Fines-Workman at the LLCC Taylorville location, showcasing the technology’s ability to facilitate remote learning and collaboration across the district.

Personnel Changes:
The board approved several personnel items, including the retirements of Angela Gum-Miller (Professor of Mathematics) and Thom Whalen (Professor of Art), effective in 2026. The board also approved the hiring of Sarah Castellanos as a tenure-track Nursing Instructor and adjusted the salary grade for Curt Robinson, the Program Director for Truck Driver Training.

Grant Applications Ratified:
Trustees ratified applications for two Adult Education grants. This includes $50,000 for the expansion of ESL services, which would fund a program assistant at the Beardstown outreach center, and $75,000 for Digital Instruction to support digital literacy.

Forward Magazine Printing:
The board approved a purchase order of $51,000 to FCL Graphics for the printing and mailing of the Spring 2026 issue of Forward Magazine. The contract allows for paper price fluctuations.

2026 Meeting Schedule:
The board adopted its meeting schedule for the upcoming year. Regular meetings will continue to be held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m., with exceptions for January, November, and December to accommodate holidays and academic calendars.
